William and Mary raises in-state tuition for new Va. students
The College of William and Mary’s governing board approved on Friday a 14 percent increase in annual tuition and fees for new Virginia students, one of the largest hikes in recent years among the region’s marquee public universities.

Fairfax County School Board hires Karen Garza to be superintendent
The Fairfax County School Board has officially approved veteran Texan educator Karen Garza to be the next superintendent, and Garza flew in to accept the new role in person.
Board members had voted last week to offer Garza the job, but Thursday’s unanimous decision made it official.
