Share Your Leadership Skills as a Member of the Board of DirectorsNCSS is seeking members for challenging leadership positions that affect local, state and national social studies education. The NCSS Nominations and Elections Committee is currently accepting applications for nomination as candidate for NCSS Vice President, Board of Directors and Fund for the Advancement of Social Studies Education (FASSE) Board.NCSS is seeking candidates for vice-president, and board of directors in the categories of secondary classroom teacher; supervisor; and K-12 Classroom eacher At-Large and At-Large. Nominees are also needed for the Fund for the Advancement of Social Studies Education board. You may nominate yourself, or recommend a colleague with Members with experience in affiliate council or associated group leadership. The NCSS board of directors sets policy for NCSS and, toward that end, deliberates on all items of concern to NCSS and to the profession as a whole. The board meets three times per year; at the NCSS Annual Conference, February and May. Travel expenses for meetings are paid by NCSS, with the exception of the Annual Conference Meeting for which NCSS will reimburse one night hotel at the conference rate.
